Board Expectations
Thank you so much for your interest in being on the executive board for Therapist Resource Network. We are still new at this, so we are learning as we go. Please do not expect perfection or for everything to be refined. In an effort to be transparent, build a diverse, effective, and collaborative team, and make sure everyone feels it’s a good fit, we have outlined what we are looking for in board members and what we think you can expect from the position.
Investment of time: We expect one 60 to 90-minute meeting per month and two 4-hour virtual retreats each year. On average, you can expect to commit 6-8 hours per month in addition to the retreats including follow up tasks and subcommittee communication.
Contribute any specialized skills and talents. This will be a working board, so we will need all hands on deck. We are specifically looking for board members who are knowledgeable and passionate in accounting/bookkeeping/budgets, website design/SEO, fundraising and/or grant writing, marketing/social media, and corporate communication and partnerships. You don't have to be a therapist, but you have to support us!
Financial: annual donation that is significant to you.
Fundraising and networking: tapping into your professional and personal networks to build and maintain relationships in order to raise funds and encourage participation in programming.
Follow ethical guidelines and disclose any conflicts of interest.
Collaborative and respectful problem solving and teamwork. Open to new ideas, creative solutions, and meaningful connections.
Create and approve annual budget, maintain accurate financial records.
Attend fundraising and/or networking events when they are scheduled (this is very much TBD).
Aligns with and behaves in accordance with TRN’s values: dignity, equity, compassion, advocacy, integrity, gratitude and community.
Cracking jokes and keeping a positive attitude.
If you feel these criteria are a good fit for you, and you want to move forward in the selection process, please complete the application. After that, we will schedule a 30 minute meeting with those candidates we feel are the best fit for TRN. Should you have questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
